A man from New Jersey is back in Indiana County Court today for a post-sentence motion hearing.
The hearing today is to consider a motion to amend the sentence for 26-year-old William Tifa of Newark. He was ordered to serve 18 to 60 months in prison for a guilty plea to a charge of aggravated assault with the intent to cause bodily harm in connection with the investigation into an incident on March 8th at the Satlsburg Pharmacy where he tried to acquire Phenergan-Codeine, Prednisone, and Azithromycin using a fraudulent prescription.
One week later, Tifa went to the pharmacy to pick up the prescription but left after staff told him it would take 15 minutes to fill. State police say Tifa called the pharmacy from a blocked phone number before going back to pick it up at 12:18 PM. He was confronted by Saltsburg Police, who were prompted to come over by pharmacy officials. A physical altercation ensued, and during that time, Tifa bit one of the responding officers. He tried to break free from officers but was quickly reprehended.
