Penguins General Manager Ron Hextall announced yesterday that some new names that are coming to the front office.
Hextall announced that Will Action, Matt Mangene, Alexander Khavanov and Kerry Huffman will join the Penguins scouting team while Brett Hextall comes on as an integrated development coach.
Action and Huffman join the Penguins as professional scouts with lots of experience in the NHL. Action played in 33 games with the Edmonton Oilers and finished out his career in Germany, while Huffman played with Philadelphia, Quebec and Ottawa from 1987 to 1996, recording 145 points.
Brett Hextall is the son of Ron Hextall who recently served as a development coach with the Philadelphia Flyers from 2017 to 2020.
Khavanov played 15 years of pro hockey in the NHL and in his home country of Russia. He joins the Penguins amateur scouting staff.
Mangene played eight seasons in the AHL and ECHL from 2012 to 2020 and in Austria last year. His role will be to scout draft-eligible players in North America.
