The Marion Center School Board also meets tonight. They, too, have been talking about the configuration of their elementary schools, with discussion at last week’s work session of a plan to change Rayne Elementary to a PreK to second grade school, with the W.A. McCreery School to become a third through sixth grade school.
At last week’s work session, several members of the community spoke against the idea, saying that the idea to have some elementary students on the same bus with high school students was not a good one. Some parents also mentioned that students would have to wake up even earlier to catch the bus. Others were also saying that the process was not properly vetted with the public.
Tonight’s meeting will be held at 7:30 PM at the High School Auditorium.
