Former Steelers linebacker Anthony Chickillo announced his retirement from the NFL yesterday.
Chickillo, 28, spent six seasons with the Steelers after he was drafted in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He was a main-stay on the Steelers’ special teams unit and was a reserve on defense.
He appeared in 11 games with the Denver Broncos last year, and he finishes with 108 career tackles.
In other NFL news, the Atlanta Falcons released linebacker Barkevious Mingo following his arrest on Thursday. Mingo faces charges of indecency and sexual contact with a child, according to the Arlington Police Department.
Mingo was released on Friday on $25,000 bond and his lawyer, Lukas Garcia, claims the charges are “completely basis.”
He signed with the Falcons in March, and spent last season with the Bears.
