Former Penguins Defenseman Bryan Watson passed away at the age of 78.
Known as “Bugsy”, the Bancroft, Ontario native was popular with the Pens in the late 60s and early 70s due to his combative style of play. In 303 games, he recorded 65 points (eight goals and 57 assists), but he racked up 48 fighting majors and 871 penalty minutes, which is the 5th highest in franchise history.
Watson also played for Detroit, Montreal, St. Louis and The Oakland Seals, and was also a head coach with the Edmonton Oilers in the early 1980’s.
