S.W. Jack took care of Armstrong in the deciding game of their Indiana County Youth Legion semifinal series last night, with a 9-4 win clinching the series, two games to one.
After falling behind 1-0, the Drillers scored three runs in the bottom of the first and five more in the second.
Armstrong’s pitchers could not find the strike zone, walking three and hitting a batter to allow the first Drillers’ run before Michael Dolan’s two-run double. Armstrong walked ten batters on the night and hit two more, as S.W. Jack had only three hits. Dolan had two hits, both doubles.
S.W. Jack will visit top seed Marion Center for the first game of the three-game championship series tonight at 5:30. It will be a “bragging rights” matchup of Marion Center manager Mike Pacconi against his dad, longtime S.W. Jack manager Mitch Pacconi.
