Repairs in the PA House of Representatives have wrapped up ahead of schedule.
The repairs were needed to fix water damage caused by a ruptured heating coil above the ornate ceiling of the House chambers. The work got underway in January and was expected to wrap up by March 18th but it finished nearly a month early. Officials say because the work was finished ahead of schedule, projects for the senate chambers can get underway. That includes the installation of new lamps in all the light fixtures in the chambers.
Its not clear if the early completion of the project for the state house means that costs will be cut from the $150,000 price tag for the project. The repairs of the house chambers forced Governor Shapiro to hold his budget address this year in the Capitol Rotunda.
