Robert “Bob” Joseph Butchkoski, 78, of Indiana, went to Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, peacefully in Indiana, PA.
A son of Joseph and Anna (Prymack) Butchkoski, he was born Jan. 11, 1946, in Indiana.
Bob was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. For 28 years, Bob was a business teacher at the United School District, where he then took the role of principal for eight years. He had also worked at Brown’s Boot Shop. Bob enjoyed camping, gardening, fixing things around the house and watching the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. He loved teaching school and genuinely helping kids as well as spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan (Stake) Butchkoski, of Indiana; his daughter, Nicole Strike, of Pittsburgh; and his son, Joshua Butchkoski, of Pittsburgh. Bob is also survived by four siblings: Loretta Eldridge, of Indiana; Donald Butchkoski and wife Suzy, of Indiana; Terry Butchkoski and wife Sharon, of Indiana; Mike Butchkoski and wife Debbie, of Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Ted Cogar officiating. Interment will be in Brush Valley Cemetery.
