After seeming to find their offense in St. Louis, the Pirates’ lost it again in Colorado, as they lost their third straight game to the Rockies yesterday.

Pirates manager Derek Shelton says the bats didn’t come through in the entire series in Colorado.
Shelton says Chad Kuhl was cruising before a blister knocked him out of the game.
The Pirates return home to PNC Park for a weekend set with the Milwaukee Brewers. Wil Crowe (1-4, 6.50 ERA) goes for the Pirates against the Brewers’ Corbin Burnes (3-4, 2.53 ERA)
Director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said yesterday that pitcher Steven Brault will finally fly to Pittsburgh this weekend and join his teammates for the first time since injuring his back in spring training. Brault threw a two-inning simulated game in Bradenton yesterday. There is no timetable for his return to the active roster.
Tomczyk said first baseman Colin Moran is improving, but still day-to-day after getting hit on the left wrist by a pitch in Colorado on Monday. Others on the injured list include pitcher Luis Oviedo, who threw a one-inning simulated game on Tuesday as he works his way back from a quad injury and pitcher Trevor Cahill, who has begun running again after re-injuring his strained calf muscle.
Pirates pitching prospects Quinn Priester and Roansy Contreras have been selected for the All-Star Futures Game in Colorado.
Priester was the Bucs top draft pick in 2019. He is 3-3 with a 3.32 ERA this season at High-A Greensboro. Contreras started for Altoona against Hartford last night and gave up two runs on two hits and two walks before the game was suspended by rain in the middle of the second inning. They will pick it up again at 5:05 this afternoon, tied at 2-2 and play the rest of the nine-inning game, then a full nine-inning second game. Tomorrow, they will play a seven-inning doubleheader.
