State Senator Joe Pittman says area school districts will see significant increases in their state subsidies as part of the new $40.8 billion budget.
In Indiana County, increases range from more than $500,000 in the largest district, Indiana Area, to over $92,000 at Purchase Line. Those are combined figures that include the basic education calculation and the special education funding.
The total school funding for Indiana Area, which receives the largest allocation is $12,187,325, an increase of $513,319.
Blairsville-Saltsburg, which will be renamed River Valley on Thursday, will receive $11,226,271, an increase of $190,798.
Then comes Marion Center, at $11, 076,443, an increase of $325,641.
United will receive $9,999,042, and increase of $146,347.
Purchase Line will receive $9,998,513, and increase of $92,253.
Penns Manor will receive $8,292,766, and increase of $98,671.
Homer-Center, which has been working with Pittman and Representative Jim Struzzi to receive a fairer share of school funding, will receive $6,584,445, an increase of $197,387.
