On Monday night, the Indiana School Board approved its 2021-2022 budget, and it had some positive changes due to the state budget that Governor Tom Wolf said he would sign this week.
The state budget provided the district with a substantial financial increase, according to the audit and finance chairperson, Julia Trimarchi-Cuccaro.
In other business, the board approved by a 7-1 vote to hire Strategies Solutions, Inc to facilitate committee meetings regarding the discussion of the future grade configuration and facility use of the buildings in the district, pending receipt of favorable references. Superintendent Michael Vuckovich said that the board wants to collect input from the public on what is being considered as a difficult topic.
In other business, the board approved expanding the enrollment in the PreK Counts program to students at age of 3 and to students outside the district’s catchment area if the program is beneath the target of 20 students a classroom.
