It was a busy day for fire and rescue crews on Sunday in Indiana County as crews had to deal with a brush fire and a vehicle accident.
The brush fire, marking the 80th such fire this year so far, was reported at 2:03 PM on Route 119 South in Center Township. Homer City Fire Department was dispatched for the fire. Homer City Fire Officials say that the brush fire was small, and was already smoldering by the time crews got to the scene.
The vehicle accident was reported at 10:00 PM on Route 156 in Armstrong Township. Elderton Fire Department and Citizens Ambulance were dispatched at the time, along with State Police.
Fire crews were also busy yesterday with traffic control detail in Montgomery Township on Rowley Cemetery Road at 8:03 PM. Commodore Volunteer Fire Department assisted on that call. Indiana Fire Association was dispatched at 8:23 PM for an automatic fire alarm activation on Route 156 outside of Indiana County. Iselin/West Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at 10:10 PM for a report of debris on the road on West Lebanon Road.
