TENNIS
The IUP women’s tennis team threw two shutouts over the weekend, beating Ferris State, 4-0 on Saturday and Walsh, 4-0 on Sunday.
IUP claimed the doubles point for the second straight day yesterday, winning two of the three matches to start off the dual. Ming Deewajee and Dani Ramos took a 6-1 set in their match and Veronica Sirci and Alexis Cramer won their match, 6-2.
In singles, Kate Graydon won 6-1, 6-4 at the number two slot and at number three, Dani Ramos won her match, 6-2, 6-3. Sirci clinched the shutout with a 6-3, 6-3 win at the number five flight.
TRACK & FIELD
The PSAC portion of the track & field season starts this week. Over the weekend, IUP completed the non-conference schedule competing in Geneva, Ohio in the SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games.
Highlights included Indiana High grad Kendall Branan’s win in the 600 meters, along with PSAC qualifying marks in four events for IUP athletes and ten top-twenty individual finishes.
