One person was hurt in a vehicle crash on Starford Road in Cherryhill Township yesterday. Pennsylvania State Police say at 4:15 PM on Thursday, 20-year-old Cameron Yoder of Commodore was driving on Starford Road near Wandin road when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer. He lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. Yoder had minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
A Blairsville man could face assault charges for an incident reported on Tuesday in Burrell Township. State police say that at 8:16 PM on Tuesday, a 32-year-old un-named Blairsville man allegedly hit a 34-year-old Blairsville woman in the face, causing some injury. The man was taken to Indiana County Jail to await his arraignment hearing. The identities of the suspect and the victim were not released.
Two men from outside of Pennsylvania were charged with drug possession after a traffic stop in White Township on Tuesday. State Police say that they pulled over a Honda Odyssey for some summary traffic violations at 11:30 AM on June 22nd, and through an investigation, they found that 26-year-old Jordan Clayborn of Shawnee, Kansas, and 23-year-old Austin Hensley of Spring Town, Texas, were in possession of marijuana and some drug paraphernalia items. Charges were filed through District Judge Susanne Steffee’s office.
State Police are investigating a case where someone was scammed out of $7000. Troopers say on June 11th, unknown suspects tricked an 88-year-old White Township man into mailing them $7000 in a Norton Antivirus Customer Service Scam. The investigation is on-going.
