If it seems as if there is less road construction going on in Indiana County, get ready…more is coming.
PennDOT yesterday gave a construction update on projects throughout District 10, which includes Indiana, Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, and Jefferson counties.
In Indiana County, the major projects already underway include the $19.8 million widening of Oakland Avenue in White Township, which is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2023; and the $5.7 million Cunningham Culverts replacement projects on Route 422 in Armstrong and White townships, which should finish up next summer.
New summer road construction projects in Indiana County include a $3 million resurfacing project on Routes 954, 422, and 85 in Brush Valley, Buffington, Center, Pine, and South Mahoning townships; a $2.2 million resurfacing project on Marshall Road in North Mahoning Township; and the resurfacing of the southern portion of the Hoodlebug Trail connector from the pedestrian underpass along Route 119 to the Cornell Road intersection in Burrell Township.
All three of those projects should be completed this fall.
