As the weather has been unseasonably warm over the last few days, the number of brush fires has gone up. That number includes one that was reported yesterday in the Northern part of Indiana County.
The brush fire was reported at 1:21 PM on McCormick Road in South Mahoning Township. The Plumville fire department was dispatched initially, and Dayton Fire Department was called in to assist at 1:38 PM. No other details are available on the fire, including the cause and how much damage was done. This marks the 4th brush fire this year in Indiana County so far.
The only other call yesterday was for a gas leak along Philadelphia Street in Indiana Borough. Indiana County fire association’s rescue squad was dispatched at 10:39 AM yesterday.
