Pitt football coach Pat Narduzzi lost an assistant coach yesterday and gained his first recruit for the class of 2025.
Defensive line and assistant head coach Charlie Partridge is leaving college football to become the defensive line coach of the Indianapolis Colts, joining a parade of college assistants who are bolting for the pros because of the volatility in the college football coaching ranks. Partridge has been on Narduzzi’s staff for seven seasons in his second sting at Pitt. He previously coached four seasons on the staffs of Walt Harris and Dave Wannstedt.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida high schooler Trevor Sommers has announced a verbal commitment to play defensive line for Pitt. He is 6-3 and 245 pounds and is not yet ranked by Rivals.com. He’s listed as a weakside defensive end from St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
