The Marion Center School Board tonight will meet for a work session and among the items up for discussion is the 2021-22 district budget. The board is considering a spending plan worth $27,040,365, holding the line on real estate taxes at 11.9631 mills.
The board will also discuss a number of personnel items and several district policies, including policies on extracurricular activities and interscholastic athletics.
Purchase Line’s board also meets tonight, and while they have not yet published their agenda, items from this month’s work session included the adoption of the district’s budget, a number of personnel items including hiring an athletic director, cheerleading coach, and a girls basketball coach and staff, and a proposal to join with Homer-Center for shared cafeteria management.
Indiana Area’s Buildings, Grounds & Transportation Committee will meet tonight for discussion of the budget and a contract extension for Gittings Protective Security.
Board President Walter Schroth will lead a discussion on grade configuration, and the board will review the turf project at Andy Kuzneski Field, where the old artificial turf has been removed and a new carpet will be installed this week. A school safety report will be presented next week during an executive session prior to a special board meeting.
