In the minor leagues, the Altoona Curve fell to the Erie Seawolves on Friday night 4-2.
Altoona drew first blood with a run in the top of the first inning with a single by Brendt Citta driving in Oneil Cruz, who now has hits in 20 straight games. Erie tied it in the bottom of the third on a Ryan Kreidler sac-fly to score Dylan Rosa. Jonah Davis would hit a solo homer in the top of the 5th to put the Curve ahead, but Erie kept pace with another sac-fly, this time by Dillon Dingler to score Kreidler. Erie would take the lead for good with a two-run homer hit by Spencer Torkelson in the 8th.
Curve starter Trey McGough got a no-decision, going 5 and 2/3rds innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out 5. Oddy Nunez took the loss in relief. The two teams play again today.
