A bill has passed the Senate Game and Fisheries Committee that would repeal the Sunday hunting prohibitions currently in place in Pennsylvania.
Senate Bill 607 would remove any limitations for Sunday hunting and trapping that are currently in place. Right now, state government can schedule only certain Sundays out of the year for hunting and it is further limited to what animals can be hunted on those days. The proposed legislation would leave all wildlife management decisions, including the decision to hunt on Sunday, to the PA Game Commission.
The bill passed the Game and Fisheries Committee by a 7-4 vote, and will now head to the Senate Appropriations Committee for discussion and a vote.
