Another Republican has announced a run for governor next year.
Erie County State Senator Dan Laughlin, citing a platform that emphasizes “fixing roads more than fighting culture wars” and a “center-right” conservatism, joins an expanding field of candidates.
There are now six declared candidates and seven others who have publicly expressed interest in running for the GOP nomination.
No Democrats have officially announced a run, but state Attorney General Josh Shapiro has publicly expressed interest and would be considered the front-runner should he declare.
