Hunter Renfrow’s two-yard touchdown catch with one second left gave Clemson a 35-31 win over Alabamain the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in Tampa. Deshaun Watson threw for 420 yards and three touchdowns for the Tigers, who trailed 14-0 in the first half and 24-14 entering the fourth quarter. The Crimson Tide allowed 21 points in the fourth quarter, ending a streak of 97 straight games in which they won after entering the fourth quarter with a lead.
After the game, Watson said he will enter the NFL draft and forego a final year of
college eligibility. He has already graduated.
