Yesterday afternoon and early this morning have been busy for Indiana County’s First Responders.
At 12:08 PM, a Carbon Monoxide Alarm was activated on South 8th Street in Indiana Borough, prompting a response from the Indiana Fire Association. Also, two automatic fire alarms were reported. One was reported at 2:34 PM on Route 580 in Green Township. Commodore firefighters responded at the time. The other brought out Indiana Fire Association Companies 3 and 4 at 2:15 this morning on Grant Street in Indiana Borough.
A structure fire was reported at 6:05 along Arcadia Road in Montgomery Township. Cherry Tree, Glenn Campbell and Commodore Fire Departments were dispatched at the time, along with the RIT Team and Citizens Ambulance. Officials with the Cherry Tree fire department said that the initial call was for a garage fire, but when they got there, they discovered that a snowmobile stored in the garage was pulled out and it was on fire. Crews were on scene for less than an hour to put the fire out and ventilate the structure.
A vehicle accident was reported at 6:12 PM on Oakland Avenue in Indiana Borough. Indiana firefighters were called out again, along with Citizens Ambulance and State Police.
