Penguins center Evgeni Malkin underwent right knee surgery on Friday.
Malkin was injured on March 16th and missed 23 games, then re-injured the knee in the last game before the playoffs. He missed the first two games of the season-ending series loss to the New York Islanders. He had surgery to repair a torn ACL and MCL on the same knee in 2012.
The team says Malkin will not be ready for the start of training camp in September.
