UPDATE: Officials have ruled that a fire that destroyed a garage and damaged a home Friday afternoon in Green Township was arson.
Officials say that the fire was reported at 1:06 PM at 3664 Starford Road in Green Township. Commodore, Clymer, Cherry Tree and Hope fire departments were initially dispatched, with Indiana, Hastings and Black Lick fire departments called in for standby detail. Commodore fire officials say that there was smoke showing from both the house and garage. Officials also said that there were multiple origin points for the fire. The garage was ruled a total loss, but the house is repairable. No injuries were reported.
Officials say that this arson is not connected with any other reported arsons, and there no cause for concern.

Multiple fire companies were called out for a house fire in Green Township Friday afternoon.
Indiana County 911 dispatched Commodore, Clymer, Cherry Tree and Hope fire departments for the fire call at 3664 Starford Road in Starford at 1:06 PM. Hastings, Indiana and Black Lick fire departments would send in engines to stand by for Cherry Tree, Commodore and Clymer fire departments respectively. Initial reports say that the fire was first discovered in a bedroom of the house. The fire was knocked down about 40 minutes later.
No word yet if anyone was hurt or how much damage was done.
