A former Indiana County Commissioner and his wife, who are both IUP distinguished alumni award winners, have made a donation to the university as part of the Imagine Unlimited campaign’s final push.
Major General Rodney Ruddock and his wife Ellen, both longtime residents of Indiana County, made a $50,000 donation to the campaign back in December of 2020 that was part of a rally that pushed the campaign past its $75 million goal early. The financial gift from the Ruddocks will be used to establish two scholarships, one for mathematics and one for business. The money will also be used to support existing scholarships in their names for baseball.
Aside from his service to our country in the U.S. Army and as an Indiana County Commissioner, Rodney graduated from IUP in 1965 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and safety education, and earned his masters at IUP in 1975 in Counseling Education. Ellen graduated in 1966 from IUP’s business education school.
The Imagine Unlimited campaign raised a total of $81.36 million by the end of the campaign in February.
