Last week’s DEP announcement of reclamation funds for abandoned mines at sixteen sites in Pennsylvania included one location in Indiana County, and there is more money on the way for another location, this one in northern Indiana County.
The Clean Streams Foundation will receive $24 million to oversee the construction of a drainage treatment system for the Ernest-Fulton Run of Crooked Creek. The CSF is based in Lexington, Kentucky.
The bid process began on Friday for another project, the Johnsonburg #2 Mine in Banks Township, in northern Indiana County. Bids will be accepted through February 22nd.
