Two people were killed in a fire this morning in East Wheatfield Township.
Fire crews from Clyde, Armagh-East Wheatfield, Brush Valley, Seward, New Florence and Bolivar; State Police; and Citizens’ Ambulance were initially called out at 5:23 this morning for the fire at a home along Fox Road in East Wheatfield Township. Initial scanner reports indicated that there was possible entrapment. Troopers say two individuals were found dead inside the home. The Indiana County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene at that point.
While the origin and cause of the fire is under investigation by State Police Fire Marshals, there are no indications of foul play. The identities of the victims have been withheld pending next of kin notification.
Crews were on the scene for roughly six hours.
