The State System of Higher Education and the union representing its teachers have agreed in principle to a new contract.
The terms of the agreement have not yet been released. Both sides say that the new agreement came after day and night negotiations on Wednesday, with the agreement being made early Thursday morning. Right now, legal counsel for both APSCUF and PASSHE are finalizing the language. When that’s complete, it will go before the APSCUF membership for review and possible ratification.
The four-year agreement, if approved, would go into effect immediately. Right now, teachers are working under the terms of a contract that expired on June 30th of 2023.
Meanwhile, negotiations between the two sides for the Coaches’ Contract is expected to continue on January 31st. Their last negotiation session was January 11th and 12th.
