Men’s coach Joe Lombardi liked the way his young team hung in there against the hot-shooting Mountain Cats.
Women’s coach Craig Carey felt his team put together a good all-around game.
In the women’s game, IUP’s Grace Centrulla scored her 1,000th college career point on a jumper at the end of the first quarter. She scored 869 points in three seasons at Mercyhurst before transferring to IUP this season. She needed two to reach the milestone and finished the night with eight.
IUP will return home Saturday for a doubleheader against Edinboro, with the women’s game at 1:00 PM and the men to follow. Airtime on 92.5 FM U92 will be 12:45 PM.
