The ARIN Intermediate Unit Board of Directors met on Tuesday and approved a tentative budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year.
The budget comes to $3,664,707, which is an increase from $3,414,949 that was proposed last year. The budget now goes out to the districts in the intermediate unit for their approval, and the districts will also be asked to approve their shares of the budget. That is expected to take place at future school board meetings. The ARIN budget will also be put out for advertisement and public display.
The board also approved the 2023-24 Transportation Contract with Beacon Mobility Tri-County Transportation Services to provide transportation for the IU. The contract agreement is retroactive to Augst 25th of last year and will continue through June 30th of 2028. Another agreement that was approved was an agreement with the Allegheny Intermediate Unit for a joint purchasing program for the next fiscal year. The board designated Transportation Director Greg Coy as ARIN’s representative to the committee for the purchase of liquid fuels, including gasoline, diesel and heating oil.
