At their meeting Tuesday night, the White Township Supervisors discussed the latest revisions made to the proposed agreement with Citizens’ Ambulance Service.
Supervisors initially tabled the agreement on May 12 with a proposed fixed amount of $100,000 to be contributed to Citizens’ through the township budget. However, Township Manager Milt Lady said that there were some issues with Citizens’ latest revision that the Supervisors wanted to look over before voting on it. One of those issues was the proposed payment plan.
Lady adds that, despite the issues, he is still confident that an agreement could be reached soon.
In other business, the Supervisors approved of a metal sculpture made by an IUP student to be placed around a tree in front of the municipal building. Lady said he was approached by the unnamed student who “just wanted to give it a home.” Prior to its placement, a plaque will be made to recognize the student who made it and a sign will also be made to warn children not to climb on the sculpture.
The board also recognized Gavin Cummings as the township’s new Supervisor for Recreation Facilities. Cummings, an IUP alumnus who interned at the S&T Bank Arena, replaces Terry Riley who retired from the position on May 5.
