The Penguins played the type of game Mike Sullivan wants them to play yesterday and they got the result Sullivan believes they will get when they play that way…a win. Paul Steigerwald reports.
Coach Mike Sullivan says the Penguins got it right yesterday.
Sullivan says the second line of Drew O’Connor, Brian Rust, and Evgeni Malkin is coming together, and O’Connor’s a key part of it.
Sullivan says Sidney Crosby is the best player in the world, especially around the opposing team’s net.
The Penguins were 0-for-2 on the power play and are 0-for-15 in their last four games.
Forward Noel Acciari was back in the lineup after missing the game Saturday at Carolina. Defenseman Chad Ruhwedel left yesterday’s game after striking his head when he was slammed hard into the wall behind the Pens’ net.
The Penguins are off until Saturday, when they visit the Vegas Golden Knights.
