ORIGINAL STORY:
The effects of yesterday’s severe storms are still being felt this morning for many in Indiana County, with power outages reported by Penelec and REA Energy.
Penelec reports that 769 of its customers remain without power this morning. The highest concentration of outages is in Burrell Township, where service remains interrupted to 402 customers. Indiana Borough is next with 173 outages reported, followed by Center Township with 156. Outages are also being reported in Blairsville Borough and in West Wheatfield, Brush Valley, and Black Lick townships.
REA Energy reports that 38 of its cooperative members are without power, with most of them in North and West Mahoning Townships, with 11 outages in each area. Rayne, Green, Center, Canoe and White Townships are also reporting outages this morning.
As the severe weather was the cause of many of these interruptions, there is no word available yet on when power will be restored.
