Indiana County first responders were busy on Tuesday at the height of the strong wind, snow and rainstorms that rolled through the area.
Indiana County 911 reported about 40 calls for service yesterday between 6:00 AM and midnight. Many of those calls were for utility lines down in Buffington, Montgomery, West Wheatfield, East Wheatfield, East Mahoning, Burrell, Center, White, Conemaugh, Young, Armstrong, Rayne, Canoe and Green Townships and in Blairsville Borough. Many of those areas also saw fire crews being dispatched for pumping details.
One flooded road was reported by Indiana County 911 on Tuesday with Coal Run fire crews brought out to Route 286 west in Young Township as a portion of that road flooded. Along with those calls, portions of Route 22 were closed yesterday in East Wheatfield Township due to the road conditions.
Crews have also been busy this morning with a pumping detail called for at 3:40 this morning on Central Street in Canoe Township. And a vehicle accident was reported on Parkwood Road in Young Township at 4:40 this morning. Iselin-West Lebanon and Coal Run-McIntyre fire departments, Citizens’ Ambulance and State Police were called to the scene.
