Once again, our area is under an advisory from the National Weather Service concerning high winds.
A high wind advisory was put in place last night at 7:00 just as a high wind warning expired. That advisory is in effect until 7:00 tonight. Winds are expected out of the west from 20 to 30 miles an hour, with gusts are expected to get up to 50 miles an hour. That could blow around items that are not secured, and blow down more tree limbs and power lines.
Meanwhile, Indiana County’s upper elevations in the southeast corner of the county are also under a winter weather advisory until 7:00 tonight. While most of the county will get a coating to an inch of snow, the upper elevations are expecting up to three inches of snow, making roads slippery. Drivers are asked to exercise some caution as they head out today.
