The TribLIVE High School Sports Network recognized one Indiana High utility player as “Player of the Week” for his efforts this past week.
Indiana’s Steven Budash was recognized for his efforts on the diamond, especially in the Little Indians’ most recent win over Burrell last week where he was the winning pitcher after allowing only two runs in three innings of relief.
According to TribLIVE, Budash he’s posted a .518 batting average on the spring with 17 runs and 24 RBIs. In addition, he was 11-for-14 in four games last week with eight doubles and a home run.
Indiana Head Coach Bill Thompson commended Budash’s efforts this season saying that Steven loves the game and that “he brings a lot of energy to the field and is intense.”
This is Indiana’s first player to be nominated for the season and the Indians will travel to Pullman Park tomorrow to face New Castle in the WPIAL Class 4A playoffs.
