Damage was limited in a garage fire in Green Township yesterday afternoon.
Indiana County 911 reported that crews from Commodore, Cherry Tree and Clymer fire departments were dispatched to Valley Road at 4:02 PM for the reported structure fire. Cambria’s Station 50, the Indiana County RIT team and Citizens’ Ambulance were also dispatched at that time. Initial reports say that a garage was on fire, and smoke was showing by the time crews got there.
Commodore fire officials say that the fire was caused by a riding lawnmower that was stored in the garage. The fire was contained to the lawnmower, with smoke and heat damage to the rest of the structure.
No injuries were reported.
