The Indiana Regional Medical Center announced earlier this morning that nurses at the hospital were awarded the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses by the DAISY Foundation – a Foundation that recognizes the extraordinary and compassionate efforts by nursing professionals.
IRMC announced in a news release that each honoree will receive a certificate that reads: “In deep appreciation of all you do, who you are, and the incredibly meaningful difference you make in the lives of so many people.” The nurses were nominated by patients, families and colleagues and then award recipient(s) were chosen by a committee at IRMC.
On Indiana in the Morning this week, IRMC Chief Nursing Officer Wendy Haislip said that the COVID-19 pandemic was hard on nurses everywhere, but they were very adaptable in helping patients during the unprecedented time.
Nomination stories are being accepted by IRMC and the first award honoree will be recognized later this summer. More information on the nomination can be found at irmc.org.
