Indiana County 911 dispatched Homer City, Indiana and Brush Valley fire departments along with Citizens’ Ambulance at 7:29 to 19 Saint Clair Street, and Coral-Graceton and Blacklick firefighters and the RIT team were dispatched eight minutes later to assist on the scene. Crews were able to knock the fire down within an hour.
Ben Day, who lives at the home, said he didn’t even know the garage was on fire until he heard the fire whistles go off.
Day said that he lost a few tractors and other items in the garage, which was deemed a complete loss by fire officials on scene. The cause of the fire is not known at this time. State police fire marshals have been called in to investigate.
