The Indiana School Board will hold their regular meeting tonight, and up for approval will be the construction of a fence for the softball field that the varsity softball team uses for their games.
Currently, the team uses a plastic “snow fence” for the outfield fence at Kennedy King field instead of a more permanent fencing. On the agenda is a motion for the board to pay up to 1/3rd of the costs of fence installation not to exceed $5000. The softball team has fundraised 1/3rds of the cost and the board is looking to White Township to finance the remaining 1/3rd.
Other items that are up for approval are authorizing the administration to seek grant funding to cover the cost of radon testing in district buildings, authorizing armed security guards at the four elementary buildings, and the approval of people who will serve on the Comprehensive Planning Committee.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 7:30 at the district’s East Pike offices.
