This week, the Evergreen Boys and Girls Club will change names to the Evergreen After School Club.
The name change takes effect Wednesday as the rollout will start on the group’s Facebook page with the posting of some videos concerning the name change. The reason for the change to the Evergreen After School Club, according to EASC board president Louis Sacco, better aligns the name with the services they provide. This also signals a departure of the organization from the one-time parent organization, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Sacco said that the change will guarantee that the group and its programs will stay locally based in Indiana County, and serve the county’s youth more effectively.
As part of the roll out, each club site will produce their own “roll out” video that will be released Wednesday, and the video with the most likes will get their respective school’s club a pizza party.
