Additional details have been released regarding the United School District’s decision to move students at the United Jr./Sr. High School to asynchronous instruction for Wednesday, May 12 and Thursday, May 13 for deep cleaning.
District Superintendent Barbara Parkins confirmed reports earlier today, saying that this was not a scheduled cleaning of the building.
While students have been moved to online instruction for the remainder of the week, Parkins added that Grand March and Prom are still scheduled to take place on Friday. She said that Grand March will be held outside with parents able to watch from their vehicles.
She also detailed the measures taken to keep students who are attending prom safe.
Faculty members at the Jr./Sr. High School will still report to the building at their normally scheduled times and in-person instruction at the elementary school will continue as normal.
