The storms that came through our area caused some trees to go down, which brought emergency responders out to several parts of Indiana County.
The calls started to roll in at 6:22 PM, when a strong storm system hit the area. The first call was on Tunnelton road in Connemaugh Township for a tree down across the roadway. Tunnelton Fire Department responded to that incident. Clyde firefighters would be called out to Gamble Road in West Wheatfield Township at 6:57 for a report of trees down across utility lines. Blairsville firefighters would be summoned into Derry Township in Westmoreland County for a report of trees down at 7:35.
Reports of trees down were not the only reason that emergency crews were called out. Tunnelton and Blairsville Firefighters would be called into Derry Township for a structure fire on Ravine Park Road. Few details are available on that fire.
