Another big-jackpot game has gone without a winner and is hitting higher levels very quickly.
The Powerball drawing last night did not produce a winner. The winning numbers for last night’s drawing were 16-54-57-62-69 with a Powerball of 23 and the Power Play was 2. With no one matching all five numbers and the Powerball, the jackpot rolls over to a $620 million annuity jackpot. If the player wants the straight cash option, that prize comes in at $354.3 million. That makes the jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing the third highest jackpot in the game’s history.
While no one hit the Powerball jackpot exactly, there still is reason to check the tickets. Powerball reports that on last night’s draw, seven people got all five regular numbers right. That’s worth $1 million, or if they bought the Power Play option, that automatically increases to $2 million.
Both the Powerball and the Mega Millions multi-state lottery games have gone a while since their last winner. For the Powerball, the last time the jackpot was hit was on August 11th when a winner was announced in New York.
The Mega Millions will be the next large jackpot drawn for, as it rolled over to $1.6 billion after no one won that one Saturday night.
