Emergency crews were busy this afternoon as Indiana County 9-1-1 reports that six area fire departments were dispatched throughout the day.
Plumville and Marion Center fire crews responded to a chimney fire shortly after 1 p.m. along Bush Road in North Mahoning Township. According to a Facebook post by the Marion Center Fire Department, reports came in that a home was filling up with smoke while its chimney put out black smoke.
A resident reported that the smoke was getting worse shortly after the initial call, which prompted Jefferson and Perry Township fire crews to be called into assist.
The fire was put out around 3 p.m. and the owners were advised to not use the chimney.
Creekside and Clymer crews were called into assist in two separate incidents after 1:30 p.m. Creekside crews were dispatched to Indiana St. in Plumville Borough, and Clymer crews were dispatched to assist in Marion Center Borough.
Cherry Tree fire crews were also in action, as they were called in for a lift assist shortly before 10 a.m.
