The Steelers yesterday signed free agent cornerback DeMarkus Arcy, who signed last year with the 49ers after not getting drafted and spent part of last season on the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad. The Steelers also waived tight end Charles Jones and punter Corliss Waitman.
The team has decided not to pick up the fifth-year option on former number-one draft choice Terrell Edmunds, according to NFL Network. The deadline was yesterday. The option would have guaranteed Edmunds $6.75 million. He’ll become a free agent after next season if he does not reach a contract agreement. In three seasons, he has just three interceptions and zero forced fumbles.
