IUP has released the schedule for graduation ceremonies that are set for this Friday and Saturday.
Commencement exercises will be held on May 7th at 7:00 PM for students receiving Master’s and Doctoral degrees. Three undergraduate ceremonies will be held the following day at 8:30 AM, and at 12:30 and 4:30 PM.
Audiences will be limited at the KCAC, and all social distancing guidelines will be followed. Face coverings are required for the event. Masks and hand sanitizer will be made available at the door. There will also be a thorough cleaning and sanitization held between each ceremony.
Those graduating were given a limited number of tickets for family members to attend. Anyone else who wants to view the ceremony can do so on the university’s YouTube channel. Links to the streaming ceremony will be posted to IUP’s commencement website at www.iup.edu/commencement. Students who are unable to attend in-person will be invited to submit information and pictures for a virtual celebration that will be posted May 22nd.
IUP has also released its list of student speakers for each ceremony. The May 7th speaker will be Jennifer Chica, who will receive her Ph.D in Nursing. For the 8:30 ceremony, Maddison Hendricks and Khala Vines will be the student speakers, Arie Van Warren will speak at the 12:30 ceremony and Abigail Baczynski will speak at the 4:30 ceremony.
