2024 will begin with Pennsylvania’s flu rate still on the rise. After an increase of more than 8,000 lab-confirmed flu cases in the previous week, the number of cases in last week’s report was up 11,426, to 32,998. With more holiday gatherings coming, the trend could continue.
Indiana County’s flu rate continues to climb. It’s up 64 cases, according to the latest numbers, to 209. That’s after a week in which there were 55 new cases, and that was after a jump of 22 the week before.
Deaths from flu rose to 24 across the commonwealth, up from 17 the week before.
The number of new RSV cases has begun to go down. There have been 30,689 cases so far this season. RSV cases in Indiana County rose by 15, to 73, after increasing by eleven the week before.
