PENS SWEEP WASHINGTON AS RUST SCORES CAREER GOAL NO. 100

The Penguins shut down the Washington offense on a big night for Bryan Rust and Tristan Jarry.

Rust scored his 100^th career goal and Jeff Carter added a score on a redirect off his skate blade.

The win was marred by the loss of defenseman Mike Matheson after he took a puck off the face during a clearing attempt by Jarry. His status is unknown for the Penguins’ game on Monday at Philadelphia. They will play the Flyers on back-to-back nights, then return to PPG Paints Arena to close the regular season against the Sabres on Thursday and Saturday.
